Wanna Pray?

It was gorgeous out this evening, just a perfect night for a walk. I live on the same farm where I grew up and there's a long gravel lane that goes from the farm house (where I live) through the fields and all the way back to my parent's home (which is basically in the middle of nowhere). I've walked this lane countless times through my life. Whenever my dad was with me as a child, he'd always point out the beauty of the creation all around us. And then he'd talk about how magnificent the Creator is! So many times he'd tell us kids to hush and just listen... wanting us to hear the chorus that the birds were singing! Being outdoors just seemed to draw him closer to Jesus! I feel the same way every time I take a nature walk now... I'm always amazed at how awesome our God is.

So when my three little kids were enjoying this wonderful walk with me at dusk, I can't tell you how much my heart swelled when three year old Elijah pointed up at the sunset in the sky and said, "Look what God painted!". We all took in the beauty of all the colours of the sunset. Then my five year old Evangeline's eyes lit up and she said, "Wanna pray?". So right there on the lane, together we praised our wonderful Maker. I'm truly touched that at such a young age, my children know the Lord... how near He is... that we can talk to Him anytime.

“Worthy are you, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for you created all things, and because of your will they existed, and were created” (Revelation 4:11)
